Ignite Growth and Development: Occupational Therapist Position Available The Early Childhood and Family Service Occupational Therapist is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside Speech Pathologist and Therapeutic Care Staff providing assessment and developmental support services to children 0-4 years and their families in the Southern metropolitan region of Adelaide. Individual, joint and group work is offered to support developmental skills in children and their carers/families. This is a highly rewarding and fulfilling role within a supportive team of highly experienced Allied Health Professionals. This position is based at the Noarlunga Health Precinct. About the role: Reporting to the Allied Health Service Manager for Child Development Services and the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead for Early Childhood and Family Services, some of your duties as the Occupational Therapist may involve: Utilising professional skills and judgement in the provision of a consultative service to team members and other local agencies regarding management of young children and their families. Utilising program evaluation and evidence based literature for improving programs and service delivery. Determining appropriate therapy goals in partnership with the patients carer/family. Please note: This position is multi-classed as either AHP1 or AHP2 and classification will be determined by qualifications and/or experience. About you: Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Previous experience working with young children and their families. Demonstrated ability to relate well to, work with and support children zero to pre-school age and their families from various cultures and backgrounds, often in complex vulnerable families. Demonstrated ability to critically and reflectively evaluate own work, and maintain own professional development to meet requirements.
